Company of Heroes 2 runs on Relic Entertainment's proprietary Essence 3.0 game engine. As with the original Company of Heroes, the game is set in World War II but with the focus on the Eastern Front, with players primarily controlling the side of the Soviet Red Army during various stages of the Eastern Front, from Operation Barbarossa to the Battle of Berlin. Only thing changed with them is constant nerfs of the units because day 1 OKW was too stupid in terms of stats That's true, it's just that in the past there was 1 way to play OKW. OKW was always strong on infantry side of the game, thats not something new. The faction presents a myriad number of infantry combinations that are really powerful. Or Falls (doctrinal), the original glass cannon. Then Panzerfusilliers (doctrinal), the best infantry in the game. Then Obers, which if used properly become super soldiers.
